With the Audiences feature, you can upload your own list of users (emails, MAIDs, or IP addresses) to exclude specific audiences (e.g., existing customers or highly engaged viewers) in your campaigns. Samsung's system will match your uploaded audience list to Samsung TVs to ensure your ads reach the right audience, while avoiding those you've already targeted, which helps you make the most of your ad spend.
Getting access to Audiences
Before you can create your custom audience, you must first request access to the Audiences feature by reaching out to your Samsung representative and submitting a copy of your data privacy policy for approval. (This is a one-time request). Your Samsung representative will review your document or URL to ensure data and privacy requirements are satisfied (no private or sensitive information). Once approved, you will have access to the Audiences feature to create custom audiences in the Ad Manager application.
Preparing your audience file
Before you can create your custom audience, you must first create an audience file, which is a spreadsheet of the users you want to exclude based on the following identifiers: Emails/Hash Emails, Mobile Advertising IDs (MAIDS), and IP addresses.
Audience files must meet the following criteria:
CSV format
1GB size limit
Separate column for each ID: Emails/Hash Emails, Mobile Advertising IDs (MAIDS), and IP addresses
Include content for one or more identifiers
If you need help creating your file, you can download an example (sample_audience_upload.csv) below:
Important
Make sure to provide enough user identifier data in your audience file, so you can get adequate Samsung TV matches. Audiences with less than 100 matches display as unavailable.
