Overview
Campaigns are made of up ads, targeted to an audience and aim to achieve a goal.
Creating a campaign is a 5-step process:
Select a campaign goal.
Set a budget and schedule.
Select your target audience.
Add a creative or creatives.
Submit for approval.
After you submit a campaign plan, we will review it. The campaign review process takes 2 to 3 business days.
Your Samsung representative will be in touch about campaigns that fail the review process so that you can correct any issues and launch your campaign.
Campaign goals
The goal you select in Samsung Ad Manager should align with the goal of your advertising campaign. There are three goal options:
Reach
Reach campaigns increase the number of unique household and individuals exposed to your ad. For example, you could use a reach campaign to drive awareness of a new product.
Web traffic
Web traffic campaigns send more people to a destination on your website. For example, you could use a web traffic campaign to drive visitors to a page on your website to learn about new services that you offer.
Web conversions
Web conversion campaigns drive valuable actions on your website. For example, you could use a web conversion campaign to drive website visitors to sign up for your newsletter.
We strongly recommend using a pixel for web traffic campaigns and require a pixel for web conversion campaigns.
Your Samsung representative will reach out to you if you include a pixel request to provide you with a new pixel or the confirm the details of existing pixels.
Budget and schedule
The minimum campaign spend is 10,000 USD.
Campaigns must run for a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 3 months.
Note that the earliest campaign start date is 3 business days after the current business day. This provides time for us to review your campaign.
Audience targeting
Use the location, demographic and interests and behaviors sections to target the audience of viewers you want to see your ad campaign.
Location allows you to target audiences in all of the United States or just in one or more individual states.
Demographics allows you to target three demographic elements:
Age: Use age to target people of all ages or just particular preset age groups. Note that you cannot target audiences under 18 years of age.
Gender: Use gender to target all genders or either male or female audiences.
Language: Use language to target audiences who speak any language or specific languages.
Interests and behaviors allows you to target audiences with specific interests and behaviors. For example, music app lovers, Super Bowl viewers and or audiences interested in home improvement.
Creatives
Creatives are the files that you upload and are the ads that consumers will engage with during your campaign.
Upload your creatives before you create and submit a campaign. Like a campaign, creatives also pass through a review process to be sure that they meet our guidelines.
You can add creatives that are under review as well as creatives that have been approved to your campaign. Note that creatives that are added while under review and that do not pass the review process will prevent your campaign from launching. Your campaign will be assigned a status of Needs attention if this happens.
Learn more about creatives in the Creatives section.
Campaign statuses
Campaigns are assigned a status in Samsung Ad Manager. The status tell you what stage of the campaign lifecycle your campaign is in.
Find your campaign's status on the Campaign listing page that is displayed after you log in.
In review: Your campaign will be assigned a status of in-review as soon as it is submitted. Campaigns in review will be evaluated by our team.
Needs attention: Your campaign will be assigned a status of needs attention by our team if it is not ready to launch. Campaigns need attention if there is an issue with the creative or if the audience targeting is too restrictive and will prevent successful campaign execution. Our team will be in touch to help resolve any issues and get your campaign in tip top shape to launch.
In setup: Your campaign will be assigned a status of in-setup when our team is in the process of finishing campaign setup.
Ready: Your campaign will be assigned a status of ready when it has successfully been reviewed and setup and is ready to launch.
Active: Your campaign will be assigned a status of active when it has launched.
Paused: Your campaign will be assigned a status of paused when it has stopped spending budget. You or a member of our team can pause a campaign in Ad Manager. A campaign may also be automatically paused if an issue was encountered while it was in progress, e.g., a creative is no longer valid.
Complete: Your campaign will be assigned status of complete as soon as it has reached the end date or expended the entire budget.
